Frequently Asked Questions!
9. What is the basic philosophy of the worship service at CFC?
Our liturgy of worship is in accordance with Scriptural
outlines, and its purpose is to lift Jesus up and to enter into Worship of the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit.
Worship Team Philosophy: The Praise and Worship Team is not all about music.
So, if it is not all about music, what is it about? Our goal is simple and clear. We are
called to be resources for God during our most precious time with Him, worship. Our
primary goal is to lead the congregation in celebration and worship through music,
worship and actions, in a manner that is pleasing to God. While God is deserving of
our best efforts and excellence, He is most interested in our hearts.
Worship is not primarily about external excellence or technical precision, however, God
is a God of order and desires our best efforts in glorifying Him. The Praise and Worship
Team works closely with the Pastor, Elders, and Deacons responsible for worship to insure
that music is tied to the Scripture readings or theme for each service.
The Team works to produce the best quality of music possible, always striving for continued
improvement and development. As a Team, we surrender ourselves to larger goals and
objectives, allowing God to use us as "one" to support the work of the church.
In the musician or artist's world, it is easy to get sidetracked and concentrate on
performance and recognition. Praise and Worship Music and the Worship Arts are just one
aspect of a worship lifestyle. Music and arts is the vehicle but, the goal is God's presence.
Excellence is only useful in our music for one reason, to provide an atmosphere for people
to enter into God's presence, free from distractions.
CFC Worship Arts Mission Statement: "To provide an atmosphere of worship,
in excellence and anointing, that helps people experience the manifest presence of God."
Worship defined: "Responding to all that God is with all that we are."
"God is trying to call us back to that which He has created us - to worship Him and
enjoy Him forever! It is then, out of deep worship, that we do His work." A.W. Tozar
Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully and shout for joy. Psalm 33:3 NIV I will sing to
