Worship - From the Heart!
A long time ago now, when my wife and I had come out of a particularly hard and dry spiritual
time, a friend placed in my hands a Praise and Worship CD – Mighty Warrior. I was coming back
from a very difficult several years, and though a pastor, feeling empty. The songs on the CD
helped melt the hardness of heart, and weariness, reminding me that worship involves being
drawn into God’s presence, offering to him all that I am, and all that I have. It is our hope
at CFC that the worship service we have will always - always - put Jesus at the very center, as
we offer him praise, thanksgiving, and honor for all He is and all He has done. Our service
follows an historic four-fold approach to worship:
- Gathering: Call to Worship, Prayer, Songs of Praise and Worship including a Hymn each
week, and Confession of Sin
- The Ministry of the Word: This includes a children’s sermon and Bible-Centered preaching
for the adults.
- Our Response: Weekly communion and intercessory prayer and praise.
- Dismissal: We leave with a reminder of God’s “benediction” on his people.
Our worship on Sundays is not flashy or showy, but done with the understanding that what we
offer in worship must be according to God’s desires and in accord with his Word. Although we
have a “contemporary” feel we are rooted in an historic commitment to worship – always aware
that God Himself is the only audience, and only as we draw near in worship do we find the
collateral blessing that touches each believer.
Come and worship – with your whole heart – hands lifted, hands clapping, or in awe filled
quiet and reverence – He alone is to be worshipped and adored.

Musical Worship and the Praise and Worship Team at Christ’s Fellowship Church
Our liturgy of worship is in accordance with Scripture and its purpose is to lift Jesus up
and enter into worship of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The musical worship at Christ’s
Fellowship Church leans toward the contemporary genre while staying true to the roots of the
classic hymns. A “blended” musical style may be the best description.
The Praise and Worship Team is not all about music. We are called to be the resources for God
during our most precious time with Him, worship. Our primary goal is to lead the congregation
in celebration and worship through music, worship and actions, in a manner that is pleasing
to God. While God is deserving of our best efforts and excellence, He is most interested in
our hearts.
The Team works to produce the best quality of music possible, always striving for continued
improvement and development. As a Team, we surrender ourselves to larger goals and objectives,
allowing God to use us as “one” to support the work of the church.
In the musician’s world, it is easy to get sidetracked and concentrate on performance and
recognition. Praise and Worship Music and the Worship Arts are just individual aspects of the
total worship lifestyle. Music and arts are vehicles to worship but, the goal is God’s presence.
Excellence is only useful in our music for one reason, to provide an atmosphere for people to
enter into God’s presence, free from distractions.
